The DeLonghi Coffee Center (coffee pot, espresso and cappuccino) came nicely filled in polystyrene with a further bubble wrap around the jar. There was some tape in the car in key places to keep everything stable. The machine came with a portafilter for espresso coffee and 2 espresso coffee filters (1 cup and 2 cup sizes). The filter will also contain E.S.E. Pods Also comes with a coffee press / meter tool that measures the correct amount of coffee grounds for a single cup on one side of the instrument and a coffee press on the other side. For the machine's teardrop coffee part, it comes with a permanent golden mesh coffee filter. There is also an included chlorine filter. The water softener filter is optional, but I did not have one because my house already has a water softener. The stainless steel design is elegant and looks good sitting on the counter.
The machine comes with a manual that is very easy to understand and the sections are clearly marked for what you want to do. Of course, it has the sections of installation and "first use". Other sections include drip coffee, espresso coffee, cappuccino, cleaning, descaling and troubleshooting. Everything is very clear and easy to follow.
Once the clock is set on the front display, you can set the machine to start preparing at the desired time. You can plan up to 24 hours in advance. When making coffee, the default setting for the machine is to keep the carafe in warm conditions for 2 hours, but it can be restored to anywhere between 1 minute and 11 hours 59 minutes.
A great feature that I love about this machine is the "1-4" button. This function can also be used when using the AUTO function. The water will be released more slowly into the filter basket, gradually saturating the coffee beans and extracting the best aroma and aroma from your coffee. You can not use this function if you prepare a complete coffee mug (10 cups). The name of the function "1-4" means that it should be used when preparing 1 to 4 cups of coffee.
Another feature that is convenient is to have the drip-free coffee filter and the water tank accessible at the front of the machine so as not to have to move the machine to fill it. The espresso tank is located at the back of the machine at the top, but the tank comes out and can be filled in the sink and then placed on the machine. However, I placed mine within reach of the spraying tube on my key and simply did not press the "spray" button when I filled it.
The upper part of the machine also acts as a warmer to warm the cups of coffee before serving coffee, or to keep the coffee cup warm after serving it while preparing the milk foam. This function works on both sides of the machine. You can place the cups on the espresso side of the machine when using espresso coffee and on the side of the coffee that drips from the machine when using the drip side. Only the side that you are using will be hot because it is the hot water of the machine that is heating up the top of the machine. It's not too hot to touch it, so there's no danger there.
Also, I tried to see if I could use the express side and the drip side at the same time and it worked. I started making a coffee pot on the dripped side and then I made an espresso while I waited for the dripping side to end.
I would recommend this machine to both an inexperienced user and an experienced user. If you've already used espresso machines and you can quickly complete the steps, or if you need to read the easy to understand instructions step by step, this machine will work perfectly for you.
My only other comments that I can add are to make sure the coffee is the right grind when preparing an espresso or cappuccino (fine grind) and that your milk is cold enough when you prepare a cappuccino to make foam. If your espresso or cappuccino is not good, it is probably one of these factors and it is not due to the machine. If the coffee is the right grind and you're grinding it yourself, make sure you use a grinder instead of a grinder. The shop's ground coffee will give you better results than those with the grinder. We own a millstone, but our grocery store has a wide variety of coffee bean aromas that I can grind in the store using its grinder. I can not stress enough the importance of having a tasty and wonderful coffee as a final result. Your ground coffee should be fine. It should have the consistency of a mixture of sand...
